It’s good to hear your voice.

An audio show brought to you by yours truly

Somewhere along the way in 2023 I had a conversation which led to another, and then another, and I am now in the incredibly fortunate position of realising a long-held dream which is to have my own radio show.

My friend and courageous peer Nikki Carrol is the station manager for Coast Access Radio, a community radio station in my own community of Waikanae. She offered me the opportunity to see if this is something I’d like to pursue, and it turns out, yes it is.

I get lost down musical rabbit holes easily. I have music organised into playlists for occasions, themes, moods, moments. I can’t help but listen to music. These rabbit holes, and my musical influences, including my parents’ tastes have introduced me to a very eclectic range of music of all genres.

I have a vision to share music through this programme that is not stereotypically the mainstream, but well worth listening to. There is so much music being created nowadays and it’s fair to say that good, interesting music is becoming harder and harder to find.

It’s good to hear your voice is a monthly radio show recorded at Coast Access Radio (Kāpiti Coast, NZ) with the assistance of NZ On Air for Radio Broadcast. Special thanks to Catherine Scullin who is a gorgeously talented, hilarious and helpful sound engineer!
