LED BY THE ONE AND ONLY RODGER FOX

Based on Jon Pirini’s reharmonisation of the Crowded House song, Daniel Hayles arranged this tune for big band, and together with the class of 2020 I was lucky to step into the studio to record this excellent version. Find the recording here on SoundCloud.

RECORDED WITH THE NZSM BIG BAND

In 2007 I performed with my then-band Red Pepper at the Mangere Bridge Jazz Festival and saw the Rodger Fox Big Band for the first time. It was an awe-inspiring moment that I’ll never forget. I so badly wanted to be part of that energy and musical vibe. So - eventually - I studied Jazz. I met Rodger Fox. I sang with the university big band. I performed and I recorded with this legend, and I learned more than I ever thought was possible to learn. Listen to Dr. Feelgood here.

WITH A VARIETY OF ENSEMBLES

From leading an all-female ensemble for Kāpiti’s only Wellington Jazz Festival performance in 2021, to gigging regularly with a variety of ensembles, I love the challenge and rush of performing and connecting with an audience. And even though I play a little bit on a few instruments, my voice is my main instrument and I embrace the opportunity to use it!
